The renowned Drapers Awards 2024 ceremony took place on 13 November in London, gathering leading names in fashion retail. Often referred to as the ‘Oscars’ of the industry, this event is the highlight of the fashion retail calendar, celebrating exceptional achievements and contributions from individuals and businesses. Renowned comedian Josh Widdicombe hosted this year’s glittering presentation ceremony, enhancing the event’s celebratory atmosphere.

A wide array of categories were recognised, spotlighting achievements across marketing, store design, and diversity. For the category of Best Marketing Campaign for companies with a turnover exceeding £100 million, George at Asda excelled with its ‘Uniform for the People’ campaign. In parallel, Weird Fish was recognised for their outstanding campaign ‘The Outsiders’ in the same category for turnovers less than £100 million. Furthermore, the Diversity and Inclusion Award celebrated Primark for their significant efforts, notably in making fashion more adaptive and affordable. The Best Place to Work accolade went to Seasalt, while Best Store Design was awarded to Yellow Octopus for their innovative collaboration with Lululemon in Paris.

Acknowledging disruptive innovation, Positive Retail secured the Disruptor Award, and Vaayu was named Tech Innovator of the Year for their work on reducing fashion’s environmental impact through AI. Nobody’s Child received recognition as both Retailer of the Year for turnover between £10 million and £100 million, and as Team of the Year for their Ecommerce and Customer Care team. Marks & Spencer took the Consumer Choice title as well as Retailer of the Year for turnovers exceeding £100 million, reflecting their continued excellence and consumer favour.

Additionally, the ceremony honoured individual excellence, with Wendy Duggan of Primark recognised as Retail Star of the Year, and Liz Evans of George at Asda acknowledged as Leader of the Year. The Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Touker Suleyman, celebrating his enduring contribution to the fashion retail sector.

These awards were decided by a panel of esteemed judges from various influential fashion entities. Their expertise ensured that the awards accurately reflected excellence in the industry, making the Drapers Awards a credible benchmark for achievement.
