Drivers are facing one-hour delays on the M40 this morning while every single flight at a top European airport has been cancelled.
A serious collision is causing delays along the M40 – which links London, Oxford, and Birmingham – with traffic officials describing the logjam as ‘serious’.
Junctions 12 and 14 are seeing the worst of the traffic pileups and southbound between junctions J15 and J12 is seeing delays of about half an hour.
Details of the collision are unclear but involved a lorry and a van, according to National Highways.
The trains aren’t faring any better. TfL is reporting disruption on a key commuter line for southeast Londoners.
In Brussels, meanwhile, all flights from Charleroi Airport have been cancelled as unions block both the tarmac and runway. About 30,000 passengers have been impacted with 200 flights no longer taking flight.

Traffic jams of up to 10 minutes are currently being seen along the M25, according to Traffic England.
A vehicle broken down on the M25 anticlockwise between junctions J11 and J10 is behind the delays.
There’s also congestion anticlockwise exit slip at junction J4, but it should let up by 8pm.
Minor delays on key commuter Tube line
A large stretch of the Bakerloo line is experiencing minor delays this morning.
However, the delays due to train cancellations, only affect southbound between Queen’s Park and Elephant & Castle.
