In June, it was announced that Eamonn and Ruth had split after 14 years of marriage. They have one son, Jack, together. Eamonn is also father to three children from a previous marriage.

Friends of the couple told The Sun their relationship had changed after their departure from ITV’s This Morning in 2021.

The presenter has also shared his health struggles and recently used a Zimmer frame to help him walk.

In 2021, he opened up about his battle with chronic pain after he was taken to hospital and an MRI scan found he had a dislocated pelvis. In 2022, he underwent back surgery to fix three slipped discs.

In 2023, he was back in hospital after he broke his shoulder.

Ruth (64) took an extended break from presenting Loose Women as news emerged of her marriage breakdown but appeared excited as she prepared for her turn on Monday.

She took to her Instagram Stories to share a video of the Loose Women sign at the studio as she walked down the hallways. The star also panned the camera to the neon ‘Let’s get loose!’ sign.

Ruth captioned the post: “Back on the Loose! Hope you can join us!”

As the show began, Ruth addressed her return and told viewers at home: “Welcome to your first Loose Women of the week, it’s great to have your company!”

Coleen Nolan, who was also on the show, interrupted to share a message of support. She said: “Can I just say – I am so so happy that you’re back!”

The entire audience clapped as Janet Street-Porter said: “Thank God! Thank God! I was left with her and her!” before Ruth apologised and added: “I’m sorry, Janet. I won’t do it again,” referring to the weeks she spent away from the show.

Loose Women also took to the Instagram page to share a picture of Ruth and Coleen Nolan hugging as they welcomed her back onto the show.

Ruth wore a bright orange blazer and a white t-shirt for her return to the programme, where she’s appeared for many years.

And like Eamonn, she wore one accessory that caught the eye of some – her wedding ring on her left hand. .

Her split from her fellow presenter husband wasn’t otherwise raised during the programme. Eamonn also hasn’t raised the issue in the course of his work on GB News.
