easyJet passengers can get best free seats onboard with check-in tip

Must read

easyJet is known for its often low-cost fairs with seats on sale from as little as £25.99 for the summer. However, passengers who want to add on additional bags or pay to select a specific seat may see the cheap cost of their ticket begin to rise.

easyJet does not allow passengers to choose where they sit unless they are willing to shell out for the privilege.

The orange-tipped carrier explained: “You can choose where you’d like to sit for a fee. Seats can be selected at the time of booking, or at any time before you check-in, via Manage bookings on our website or mobile app.”

There are three options at varying price points for passengers who want to pay to select a seat, including standard seats, extra legroom and up-front seats. But, if you don’t fancy paying for a seat then your best bet is to check in as soon as possible.

One of the great things about easyJet, which sets it apart from other airlines, is that you can check in 30 days before your flight.

They explained: “If you don’t select a seat we’ll assign seats randomly for free when you check in and will do all we can to ensure everyone on the booking sits together. However, this is not guaranteed, especially when checking in closer to departure.”

Therefore, if you want to be allocated the best seats possible without paying and boost your chances of being sat with the rest of your travel party, you should check in as soon as possible.

If you are someone who likes to be in a specific seat or in a specific part of the plane, paying in advance might be the best option for you.

The cost of seats varies depending on when you book and where on the plane you would like to sit.

First-row seats start from £12.99, which offers extra legroom, while up-front or overwing seats start from £7.99, again with extra legroom.

Other standard seats can be changed from as little as 99p depending on where onboard you wish to relocate and when you book.

Seats can be selected at the time of booking, or at any time before you check-in by logging in to manage your booking online or on the mobile app.
