Ellen DeGeneres shared an update on her living situation in the United Kingdom amid the devastating floods.
The former talk show host and her wife, actor Portia de Rossi, reportedly left the United States to live in the Cotswolds, a rural region of the United Kingdom.
Following the news of Ellen and Portia’s move to the UK, it was reported that it was in response to the 2024 presidential election and former president Donald Trump’s win.
With Ellen and Portia in the UK in the middle of the devastation of Storm Bert and the major floods in parts of England and Wales, some reports claimed their mansion was affected.

Yet, the retired comedian posted an anniversary tribute to Portia that challenged these claims. “20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life,” she began.
“You take care of me. You help me see the good in everything. You help to guide me and pick me up when I feel off or down. You are a beautiful soul that I am so very grateful to have as a partner to navigate this crazy life with. My wife. My best friend. The love of my life,” Ellen continued.
“Thank you for being you and loving me. So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas.”
Finally, she ended the tribute, writing, “P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood.”
Ellen has remained out of the spotlight for a while following the end of her talk show in May 2022 and amid toxic workplace allegations made against her in 2020.
She had a brief resurgence, kicking off her Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Tour in June. While most dates were canceled, a taped Netflix special, For Your Approval, allowed the retired comedian to address everything in a final performance.
So it’s pretty notable that she broke her silence to address this!
