England international Ivan Toney reportedly wants to join Manchester United this summer, with the Brentford striker informing his friends of his wishes.
Ivan Toney has reportedly informed friends of his desire to join Manchester United this summer.
The 28-year-old has spent the off-season away on international duty at Euro 2024 in Germany, where England were gunning for European glory.
The Three Lions navigated their way into the final of the competition on Sunday night but lost the showpiece match in Berlin 2-1 to favourites Spain.
Cole Palmer‘s 73rd-minute equaliser threatened to take the contest into extra time following Nico Williams‘s opener, however La Roja found a winner in regulation time courtesy of Mikel Oyarzabal.
Toney arrived onto the Berlin turf with just a minute of normal time remaining on Sunday, leaving the Brentford man with little time to make an impact.

Man United first choice for Toney?
After disappointment in the final of Euro 2024, Toney’s attentions will now quickly turn to a return to club action at a critical stage in his career.
According to Football Insider, the 28-year-old has told close friends that he wishes to make a high-profile switch to Manchester United ahead of the new season.
It is understood that Toney has also informed teammates within the England camp of his desire to move from Brentford to the Theatre of Dreams.
Earlier in the year, Thomas Frank‘s Bees were hoping to pocket in the region of £90m for the 28-year-old, however the landscape of a potential deal has changed since.
With Toney only having a single year left on his current deal at the Gtech Community Stadium, the report states that Brentford would be willing to accept a bid of £60m this summer.

Where does Toney fit at Man United?
The addition of Toney at Old Trafford would provide Man United with a player that they do not currently possess – a proven Premier League goalscorer.
That being said, the former Peterborough United man only netted four goals in 16 top-flight appearances after returning from an eight-month ban for breaking the Football Association’s betting rules.
Toney enjoyed his most productive Premier League term in 2022-23, scoring on 20 occasions, with only Erling Haaland (37) and Harry Kane (30) bagging more.
Following the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna to rival Rasmus Hojlund‘s spot in the XI, Erik ten Hag‘s side are not necessarily desperate for another centre-forward.
