Ian Ward, general manager of The Broadway, said: “We are so excited for Primark to start trading at The Broadway.

“Behind the scenes the store is taking shape with the final countdown to launch day starting.”

Earlier this month, Conor Walsh, Primark retail director for the South West and North East, said: “We’re thrilled to be making our move across town, placing Primark at the heart of all the action.

“At Primark, we’re constantly reviewing our stores to make sure they’re up to standard and are the right size and in the right place.

“The new store location will certainly help us to better serve our Bradford customers, and we’re so happy that all our colleagues will be joining us in our new location too.”

Meanwhile, Sapphire is currently fitting out and is due to open in early October.

This will be the Pakistani fashion brand’s flagship UK store and will sell a wide range of apparel for women, men and children, as well as home textiles, accessories and more.

Footwear retailer Shoe Zone and Brows, a one-stop-shop for beauty needs, have also agreed to units on Petersgate Mall and will both be trading ahead of Christmas.

Mr Ward added: “And that’s not all, we have a number of other announcements up our sleeve as we look forward to the completion of the Transforming Cities work and, of course, the launch of Bradford being City of Culture in 2025.

“We can expect 12 unforgettable months of creativity, culture and the arts – and The Broadway is so proud to be part of it all.”

The Telegraph & Argus recently asked The Broadway if there were any updates about the future of the former Marks & Spencer unit at the shopping centre.

No updates were provided at the time of asking.
