The Football Association have thrown their weight behind Mail Sport’s ‘We’re backing England’ campaign as Gareth Southgate’s men prepare for their crunch clash with Slovakia on Sunday.
The Daily Mail launched an initiative on Friday to encourage the nation to support Southgate’s side in the face of burgeoning criticism towards the team following their opening three Group C matches.
England will reach their fourth consecutive major tournament quarter-final with a victory in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday.
And in response to our tub-thumping campaign, the FA have given its launch a thumbs-up.
An FA spokesperson said: ‘Our fans have been brilliant and it is great to have so much support back home.’
