Farage takes First World War-style bible to Donald Trump fundraiser

Must read

The cover of the replica edition reads: “The Gospel According To Saint John” with a second line read, “Active Service” and the dates of the First World War (1914 to 1918) below it.

Instructions in capital letters then read: “Please carry this in your pocket and read it every day.”

The event, which was reportedly hosted by former popstar and Neighbours actress Holly Valance in Chelsea, London, saw the US presidential candidate target Britain’s elite.

The fundraiser, which has reportedly already raised $2m (£1.57m) in donations, is being billed as a reception and dinner with the former president’s son, Donald Trump Jr, and his fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, a lawyer and former Fox News host.

It comes less than two weeks after Trump was found guilty in his “hush money” trial of falsifying business records to buy the silence of a porn star, a historic verdict that could influence the US elections this year.

The Republican nominee was convicted by a New York jury on all 34 charges of falsifying business records, after weeks of testimony.
