The refurbished dance studio at Devizes Leisure Centre opens on Monday, September 23, following a comprehensive overhaul.
This first-floor space had been closed while significant upgrades were carried out as part of an ongoing project at the centre.
The council says the studio now boasts a “modern, fresh interior”, alongside new equipment, storage, ceiling and lighting, updated air conditioning, and re-sealed flooring.
Work remains ongoing in the building’s main fitness suite where a consultation room is being constructed.
Once complete, the refurbishment will see the addition of a range of fixtures and fittings designed to create a “more modern, fit-for-purpose exercise space.”

This will include new equipment, replacement flooring, and refreshed decorations.
The project is expected to be completed by the Autumn although an exact reopening date has not yet been announced.
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, cabinet member for leisure, said he was excited about the reopening of the dance studio, which will be used for group exercise classes.
He said: “We are excited that this first phase of the works at Devizes Leisure Centre is now complete and our customers will be able to enjoy their exercise classes in a much more fit-for-purpose and comfortable space.
“The new facilities reflect our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality and well-maintained spaces to help people lead an active lifestyle.
“The works in the fitness suite are also on-target and progressing well and we hope to have that area re-open later this Autumn, meaning that, once complete, Devizes really will be a great place for local fitness enthusiasts to visit.
“I want to thank the customers for their patience with the class relocations and reduction of hall space whilst the upgrade work took place, and we hope people enjoy and get the most out of their upgraded group exercise space when they visit.”
During the ongoing works, which have seen fitness equipment relocated to the main hall, members have received a 25 per cent reduction in their membership fees.
From Monday, September 23, the gym will remain in the hall, with just three courts available for use.
Casual squash and badminton bookings will continue to be reduced as a result.
