A fitness instructor has scooped more awards nominations — and shared the power of yoga with schoolchildren.

Lorna Bell, of Lorna Marie Fitness which is based online and in Lowdham, trademarked one of her most popular online classes YogaScape in January this year with a major debut at a fitness festival.

Since then, her brand has won Best Upcoming Brand 2024 at the Heart and Soul Best of Fitness Awards, and been nominated for best industry newcomer, best brand, best training provider, and best health and wellbeing provider at the British Fitness Awards.

Lorna said: “We took the big jump and trademarked one of our most popular classes at Lorna’s Online Squad: YogaScape.

“We debuted it at Alton Towers FitJam festival to hundreds of people and since then, we’ve been growing our team of instructors training in YogaScape and delivering it around the UK and beyond — we have some instructors teaching it in Australia too.

“We’re helping busy people connect with yoga in a totally new way — a chance to escape the every day demands of life even for the busiest people who struggle to wind-down, shut off or are typically cardio bunnies.”

As well as the FitJam debut, Lorna has also taken her classes on tour to the International Fitness Summit in Blackpool, Orbit in Wales, and Scotland’s first dance fitness event FitsUp.

Lorna has also taught her class to many Nottinghamshire school pupils, at NottAlone Live mental health and wellbeing events held earlier this year — and she is planning to deliver classes at the event again next year.

“I feel so privileged to have been a part of this event and to have taught Yogascape to such a receptive group of young people. Their enthusiasm and engagement was fantastic,” Lorna said, following the event.

“I was blown away by the feedback from the children and teachers. Lots of them are wanting to offer more yoga on their curriculums.”

Lorna has also been nominated for Sport Individual of the Year for Newark and Sherwood Community and Sports Awards, which she describes as a “wonderful shock”.

“It’s been quite the year but so lovely to have that recognition as we really do put everything into both Lorna Marie Fitness and YogaScape,” she added.
