A global cyber outage is impacting major services internationally including commercial flights, banking and company operations with firms in Singapore, the United States and Australia known to have been affected.
The outage, which is linked to Microsoft’s Windows, appears to have come about due to an issue with cybersecurity software firm Crowdstrike.
On Friday, Crowdstrike said it had received “widespread reports of BSODs on Windows hosts”.
BSODs or “blue screens of death” commonly describe a system crash on Microsoft’s Windows.
In a statement on X this morning, Microsoft 365 said its services “are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions.
“We still expect that users will continue to see gradual relief as we continue to mitigate the issue.”
It comes amid reports of widespread IT outages affecting airlines, trains, broadcasters and banks.
