Chioma Nnadi cannot catch a break as British Vogue‘s Head of Editorial Content. From the get-go, covers of the magazine starring the likes of FKA Twigs, Zendaya, Sophie Turner, Mona Tougaard (with Central Cee) and Suki Waterhouse have failed to impress. Just last month, members of theFashionSpot forums even questioned whether or not Kylie Jenner should have allowed her debut British Vogue cover to even hit the shelves. Now, Nnadi has someone else make their British Vogue cover debut with the unveiling of the October 2024 edition. Florence Pugh makes an appearance on British Vogue this month, via the lens of photographer Venetia Scott. Scott herself styles the English actress for the occasion, opting for an all-black ensemble from the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2024 collection and a handbag from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini for the cover look.
The October 2024 Cover of British Vogue with Florence Pugh:
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“What an awful use of someone so beautifully photogenic. The pose, the bag, the expression? So odd to me,” critiqued honeycombchild.
“Another cover of British Vogue that is lifeless, static, and devoid of energy,” slated a disapproving vogue28.
“Is this a joke?” asked a dumbfounded LastNight.
“A new low…” declared a majorly underwhelmed thiago.
AristoCrazy stated: “The bar is so low it’s practically underground.”
Forum member lanvinray wasn’t best impressed either. “Flop after flop! Yes, Chioma! Give us nothing,” they laughed.
“All I can see is that huge bag (which is almost bigger than Florence Pugh) under her arm and that strange pose!! What is going on? How could anyone think this was OK?” mteb123 questioned.
