With the New Year fast approaching, many Brits must have already started planning for their holidays in 2025.
If you are planning ahead to maximise your long weekends in 2025, here are the official bank holiday dates. England and Wales generally have eight bank holidays each year, with occasional exceptions for special events.
Scotland typically observes nine bank holidays, while Northern Ireland has ten. In 2022, the UK enjoyed two extra bank holidays: one on June 3 to mark Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee and another on September 19 for her funeral.
In 2025 Brits will also get an extra bank holiday to mark 80 years since the end of World War II. The weekend has not yet been chosen, but it’s expected to be confirmed soon.
