A brace from Harry Talbot and another goal from Harry Brown saw Wakering secure another victory.
But Bowers felt Rovers won despite not being at their best.
“Three points are always pleasing as it’s a results business,” said Bowers.
“But if it was based on performance I wouldn’t be overly happy because I don’t think our performance was anywhere near the levels we can produce but we got three points and that’s all that matters.”
And Rovers also triumphed despite having to overcome a number of difficulties including the dismissal of Talbot who was shown a second yellow card after being adjudged to have dived inside the penalty area.
“I don’t think we got the rub of the green all day,” said Bowers.
“We had a stonewall penalty turned down and they got given a soft penalty which was saved.
“We also had a red card we’ve watched back and it’s very harsh.
“There’s minimal contact but any contact at pace will bring someone down.
“We dug in with nine men after an injury as well so it’s pleasing how we defended for the last 20 minutes.
“The way the lads dug deep was the most pleasing thing to come out of it.”
Wakering remain third in the Essex Senior League standings.
And Bowers is pleased with the start Rovers have made.
“If anyone said we’d be on 25 points after 11 games and still involved in all of the cups other than the FA Cup I would’ve bitten their hand off but there are some results in there that disappoint me,” said Bowers.
“I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I’d like to win every game but that’s not going to happen.
“We keep ticking them off and go about our business.”
