Hidden UK beach that’s just minutes from a famous seaside resort

Must read

The hot weather has many Britons dreaming of a seaside escape where they can plunge into the sea, bask on sun-kissed sands, and indulge in scrumptious ice creams.

There’s no shortage of amazing beaches to visit in Britain with a plethora of stunning destinations on the South West coast of England and nearby Wales.

Llandudno, a cherished coastal haven for those in Manchester and Liverpool boasts an expansive beach, a charming Victorian promenade, and cable cars ascending the Great Orme.

While the bustling North Shore Beach draws the crowds, Llandudno harbours a lesser-known ‘hidden gem’ – West Shore Beach.

Tucked away behind the headland, West Shore Beach is a serene cove, fringed by undulating sand dunes and offering a peaceful retreat from Llandudno’s main tourist spots.

The beach offers idyllic scenery, with sweeping views across the Conwy Estuary to the majestic peaks of Snowdonia.

Swimming at West Shore Beach is possible, though the waters are shallow and unguarded, making it more suitable for paddling.

Praised as a ‘hidden gem’ by several TripAdvisor users, one visitor remarked: “A real hidden gem! Only 15 minutes walk from the promenade, but feels like a world away. There is a quiet beach, and even sand dunes to explore.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Another shared their discovery: “This place is a hidden gem. It is so unlike the busy North Shore. It is peaceful with few shops and a vast sandy beach.”

West Shore Beach Cafe, a popular spot for ice creams and refreshments, is conveniently located next to a pay-and-display car park. The beach also boasts public toilet facilities and a children’s play area. For those planning to spend the entire day, the sunset at West Shore Beach is not to be missed.

One visitor couldn’t believe the “stupendous views” towards Great Orme, Conwy and Snowdonia, adding that the evenings are “wonderful” in the right weather conditions.

As one of the most stunning spots in the region, it offers a breathtaking view of the sun dipping below the horizon, its vibrant hues mirrored on the water’s surface.

One TripAdvisor member urged: “If you want to witness the sun going down, head here, as when the sky is red, the sight is amazing from West Shore Beach…”

While summer makes for the perfect time of year to enjoy a warmer trip to the beach, visitors have praised the “spectacular Autumn sunsets” visible from the shore.
