Shoppers have shown their excitement for a new snack exclusive to Home Bargains. The superstore, which started in Liverpool, boasts a food department filled with snacks, baked goods, and food cupboard staples.

Now it has been announced that a famous brand has created a new product that’s exclusive to its stores. Squashies is renowned for its famous drumstick sweets which come in a variety of different flavours. The brand’s new product is called sour apple grinch. It is in reference to The Grinch, with sweets resembling the fictional character.

In an Instagram post, Home Bargains said: “Exclusive to HB. Who’s tried our brand new Grinch Squashies available only at Home Bargains?” The firm added that the snack was priced at 99p. In the comments section, some who have already tried it were very positive.

Tom Morris, 70, who founded Home Bargains in Old Swan in 1976, is the fourth-wealthiest person in the North West. According to this year’s Sunday Times Rich list, his family fortune stands at £6.673bn – up £540m from the year before – which the Sunday Times says makes him the wealthiest ever Scouser.

Originally called Home and Bargain – a name that has stuck for many Scousers – the Morris family’s discount chain now has more than 500 shops across the UK. TJ Morris Ltd, which owns Home Bargains, has also recently saved Baltic Triangle brewery Love Lane from closure and is teaming up with the builder of the Beetham Tower to construct a high rise development on the outskirts of Liverpool city centre.
