We’ve already hotfooted it to the cinema to watch him in Gladiator II, lapped up every photo of him rocking his favourite short-shorts, obsessed over his friendship with Daisy Edgar-Jones, read up on his entire dating history, and perhaps even attended the recent lookalike competition in the hopes of spotting him in the flesh… There’s no denying that Paul Mescal is the internet sweetheart of the moment – and now, fans can get even closer to the man himself courtesy of a new partnership with Vinted.
The Normal People actor has joined forces with everyone’s favourite secondhand fashion platform to sell items from his personal wardrobe worn during the recent Gladiator II press tour, with all proceeds going to Pieta. A fan of circular fashion and charitable, too? We couldn’t possibly love Mescal any more.
FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE
Expect a virtual stampede come December 16 when his hand-picked collection goes live on the site, including one-off, custom-made pieces as well as designer gems from the likes of Jimmy Choo, Av Vattev, B.W. Marks and British knitwear brand Hades.
‘Paul has always had a strong connection to vintage and pre-loved fashion,’ explains Mescal’s stylist and former ELLE UK fashion editor, Felicity Kay. ‘He’s often eager to rewear pieces we’ve styled before or items from his own wardrobe. Partnering with Vinted for Paul’s Gladiator II promotion tour made perfect sense as it gave us the opportunity to delve deep into his love for second-hand clothes. In fact, I found a pair of Ben Davis workpants on Vinted, they fit Paul like a dream – no adjustments needed! They became one of his favourite pieces during the tour. But we were equally both excited about finding a way to give the clothes he wore during his tour a second life, so selling them on Vinted felt like the perfect fit, especially with the added bonus of supporting a good cause.’
We certainly know what we’ll be asking for for Christmas… Here’s hoping the goods arrive complete with that lovely, lived-in scent too (read: unwashed).
Shop Paul Mescal’s wardrobe via Vinted from December 16.
