The company told Agriland that this strategic move marks a significant milestone, as it has rapidly gained recognition for its pioneering AI (artificial intelligence)-driven food waste monitoring solutions.

It’s understood the UK expansion will play a key role in Positive Carbon’s growth strategy, and the company plans to create 20 new jobs by 2025 to support its ongoing development in the region.

Since its inception, Positive Carbon said it has been at the forefront of tackling organic leftovers in the hospitality and food service sectors.

Using cutting-edge AI-powered sensors, the company provides real-time data that helps food service providers identify waste patterns, reduce costs, and meet their sustainability goals.

With the opening of the new UK office, Positive Carbon said it aims to deepen its relationships with food service providers across the country, supporting the UK’s drive toward a more sustainable food industry.

The office will also serve as a hub for innovation and customer support.

CEO of Positive Carbon, Mark Kirwan said: “We are thrilled to expand into the UK market, a key region for our growth plans.

“Our mission is to help food service providers achieve their sustainability targets by reducing food waste, and our technology has the potential to make a significant impact across the UK.

“The new office, combined with the creation of 20 new jobs in 2025, will enable us to better serve our clients and continue to innovate for the future.”

Food waste and UK sustainability goals

Positive Carbon’s expansion comes at a time when food waste is increasingly recognised as a critical issue in the fight against climate change.

The company’s AI sensors aim to enable UK food service providers to reduce their environmental footprint while simultaneously improving their bottom line.

Positive Carbon’s claims that its solutions align with the UK’s ambitious sustainability goals, helping businesses minimise food waste and contribute to a more circular economy.

The company’s expansion is set to create 20 new jobs in various roles, including technical support, customer success, and sales, providing expertise to support UK clients in reducing food waste and achieving long-term sustainability.
