A thrifty traveller shared how she jetted off to Dubai without breaking the bank, proving the city of luxury is within reach for those who know how to snag a bargain.

Dubai, with its towering skyscrapers and sun-soaked beaches, might seem like an exclusive destination reserved for the wealthy. However, one savvy woman revealed her secrets to exploring this opulent city on a shoestring budget.

She’s no stranger to the glitz and glamour of Dubai, having visited multiple times before. But this time, she managed to slash her usual flight expenses from a steep £600 down to a mere £88.

‘Ms Garn Again’, a globetrotter with an impressive tally of 54 countries and 74 cities under her belt, has become an online sensation. Her TikTok account alone boasts over 84 million views, where she dishes out insider tips for travelling to both popular and hidden gems around the world, not forgetting her Instagram followers who are also in on the journey.

In a recent TikTok video, she detailed exactly how she flew to Dubai on a budget. Starting her trip at a London airport, she hopped on a Ryanair flight to Budapest for just £33.

From there, she caught a direct flight to Dubai costing only £55, landing her in the UAE at 8.30pm after about five hours in the air.

According to travel giant Expedia: “Roundtrip prices range from $477 – $705 [£367-£543] and one-ways to Dubai start as low as $260 [£200]. Be aware that choosing a non-stop flight can sometimes be more expensive while saving you time. And routes with connections may be available at a cheaper rate.”

Ms Garn Again added: “You’ll finally be in Dubai airport and it’s time for you to pick up your free sim card with one gigabyte of data – perfect for you to get to your hotel or Airbnb.”

The savvy traveller also recommends downloading Careem, which she describes as the “cheaper version of Uber”. She advised: “Get a VPN – FaceTime and Whatsapp calls are banned in Dubai. You might be thinking why is the signal so bad? It’s just blocked.”

She went on to reveal there’s a Ladies Day where women can enjoy discounts at restaurants, bars, and beach clubs, urging: “Experience luxury on a budget.”

For accommodation tips, the TikTok influencer suggests staying in Downtown Dubai for those who want to be near the action, while recommending Palm Jumeriah for a beach-centric retreat.
