Sports organisations in Jersey have been awarded grants worth £100,000 from a new funding pot.
Jersey Sport said it received more than £200,000-worth of applications to the Supportin Sport Fund created in May from a legacy left by ballet dancer Valerie Guy.
It said the grants were aimed at helping local sports organisations offer more opportunities for people to take part in.
A total of 17 sports groups have been given full or partial funding, which the charity said would directly benefit about 4,000 islanders.
David Kennedy, chief executive of Jersey Sport, said: “The wide scope of the funding will benefit a huge number of islanders in so many ways, and we will aim to distribute more funding following our ongoing fundraising efforts.
“Funds such as this allow sports to make a significant contribution to our community.”
Details of the 2025 Supportin Sport Fund will be confirmed in October, the charity said.
Further information about other local funding opportunities for local sports are listed on the Jersey Sport website.
