The Canary Islands attract over 16 million visitors each year thanks to their beautifully unique beaches and year-round mild weather. The destination is a particular draw in the autumn and winter months, experiencing much milder temperatures and far more sunshine than the majority of Europe during this time.
Now, in a boost for UK holidaymakers, Jet2 and Jet2 holidays have announced that they are bolstering their winter offering to the Canary Islands and launching more flights even sooner than planned.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced even more capacity to the Canary Islands for the winter 2024/25 season, with more than 25,000 seats added across five UK airports. The Leeds-based carrier says they made the move in line with “continued demand from customers and independent travel agents”.
This means there will be even more opportunities to travel to and from Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria throughout February and March 2025.
The news follows the announcement that Jet2 and Jet2holidays will launch flights and holidays from Bournemouth Airport for winter 2024/25.
Additional flights go on sale today (July 18, 2024) as part of what the travel provider describes as its “biggest ever winter sun programme to the Canary Islands”.
The programme includes over 2.25 million seats on sale representing 15 percent a capacity increase, resulting in over 225 weekly departures to the Canaries from the UK at key periods during the winter.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “The continued appeal of the Canary Islands as a Winter Sun favourite means we are adding even more choice for customers and independent travel agents.
“As the UK’s leading airline and tour operator to the Canaries, we know just how much holidaymakers love these islands as a means of escaping for some winter sunshine, and we are delighted to be once again stepping in to meet the strong demand.
“Winter 24/25 will be our biggest ever winter sun programme to the Canary Islands and our unrivalled programme is proving to be incredibly popular with customers and independent travel agents.”
