Jet2 is warning customers heading on holiday soon to plan ahead with delays expected over the next coming months. In their warning, the airline said that people flying from tree UK airports – Jersey, Newcastle, and East Midlands – should expect travel disruptions this week and in the forthcoming months.
The popular airline informed their customers: “We have been made aware of road works between Junction 23A and Junction 25 on the M1, one lane will be permanently closed on the Northbound and Southbound carriageways with a 50mph speed restriction in place. Delays are likely during peak hours. There will be sporadic closures of Junction 23A slip roads, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00. There will be signed diversions. Please allow enough time to travel to East Midlands Airport as all Jet2.com flights are due to operate as scheduled.”
The airline added an additional caution regarding scheduled road works: “We have been made aware of road works taking place on the A696 from 19th August until the 26th November. Diversion routes have been put in place. National Highways have confirmed that resurfacing work will be completed affecting the airport access roundabout.
“These works will take place from approximately 22:00 with the road reopening from 06:00 the following morning. Please allow enough time to travel to Newcastle Airport as all Jet2.com flights are due to operate as scheduled,” reports Birmingham Live.
Jet2 issued an advisory notice to passengers, explaining: “We wanted to let you know that there may be congestion and road closures surrounding Jersey Airport due to the Jersey International Air Festival on 12th September 2024. You can find out more at:Â www.jerseyairdisplay.org.uk.
“Please allow extra time for your journey to the airport as we’re operating your flight as scheduled. Please arrive at the airport at least two hours before your departure time. Check-in closes 40 minutes before a flight’s departure time. If you’re on a Jet2holiday, your transfer time remains unaffected.”
