There are safety fears around the product
John Lewis said it is urgently recalling a “Quality Street” product due to safety concerns. A range of Christmas baubles, which bear an uncanny resemblance to Quality Street chocolates, are being pulled from the department store’s shelves.
This is due to the deceptively delicious-looking decorations might be mistaken for the real sweets, leading to potential injuries. The Office for Product Safety and Standards has taken action by issuing a precautionary recall notice, which said: “They may be mistaken for real chocolates and pose a risk of injury if the decorations are bitten or swallowed.
‌
“This only applies to these specific glass baubles (pictured) and no other Quality Street products are affected.” The baubles are designed to look like chocolates from the range including Fudge, Coffee CreÌ€me, The Green Triangle, Caramel Swirl and Strawberry Delight, and were on sale between September 1 2023 and October 17.

It is feared that if the products were mistaken for real chocolates, they could break people’s mouths or hands. The baubles have the product codes 76640881, 76640856, 76640883, 76640880, 76640822 and 76640882 and were made in China.
‌
If you have bought any of the baubles, stop using them immediately and return them to John Lewis for a full refund. For more information, contact 03456 049 049 (09.00-17.00 Monday to Friday). For the latest news and breaking news visit http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/.
