There are 55 days to go until Americans take to the polls to cast a vote for one of two tickets; one will be for current Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, the other will be for former President Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance. Eventually, once all votes have been cast and counted, one ticket will triumph.
As election fever continues to sweep across the US, astrologers are increasingly looking to the stars to predict what may well lie ahead for the political terrain of the country.

‘You can’t predict the unpredictable, but I think that people are really underestimating the power of being born at a lunar eclipse, which Trump was,’ astrologer Francesca Oddie tells ELLE UK. ‘I think lots of astrologers are saying that Kamala will win because they want her to win but, looking at their charts, I’m not sure it’s that straightforward.’
Oddie notes how Harris, who was born on the full moon on October 20, 1964, is a Libra, making her a ‘fantastic politician’. Margaret Thatcher and Dwight Eisenhower were famously also Libras. Her moon sign is Aries, which nods to her strong and assertive personality, while her rising sign is Gemini.
Trump, meanwhile, was born on the full moon in June of 1946, making his sun sign is in Gemini, while his moon sign in Sagittarius.
‘What’s really interesting here is that they were both born in full moons, which means they both have big personalities, dreams and goals,’ she notes, adding that they also both have Jupiter, the planet most often associated with luck, abundance and wisdom in their North Node.
Far from being able to read the result of the election though, Oddie is clear that the positioning of both Harris and Trump’s star signs makes it almost impossible to predict the election result. ‘This is like what astrologers would say is the worst,’ Oddie warns. ‘It’s almost as if something’s not going to happen, or not going to go according to plan. Something unpredictable will happen surrounding the election but what exactly that is, I’m not sure.’
‘A powerful point in your birth chart that indicates your public image, career path, and your most successful pursuits is called one’s midheaven sign, or the Medium Coeli or MC. Trump’s, at present, has Uranus in it, which is the planet of governance and success, while Saturn is currently in Harris.
‘Saturn signifies blocks and delays, so she’s learning the hard way about getting what she wants. Saturn being in her MC explains Biden stepping out of the race and her becoming the nominee so quickly; there have been delays and setbacks on her journey, which isn’t to say anything other than it might be more difficult for her to get there. But that’s absolutely not to say it can’t be done.’
