Laura Woods makes cheeky gag about getting naked in hilarious exchange with injured Aston Villa star Tyrone Mings live on TNT Sports

Laura Woods provided viewers with some comic relief in a mischievous exchange with injured Aston Villa star Tyrone Mings in the build up to his side’s victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Unai Emery’s team beat the German giants 1-0 at a raucous Villa Park thanks to an outstanding finish from Jhon Duran in what was a re-run of the home team’s memorable triumph in the 1982 European Cup.

Ghosting past the Bayern backline late in the second-half, the super sub caught Manuel Neuer off his line with yet another outrageous finish to send thousands of home fans into raptures.

Villa then needed goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez to keep them in the game through some reflex saves which denied Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane.

Ahead of the historic night, Mings joined the TNT Sports panel but the conversation quickly descended into chaos as presenter Woods made an outrageous gag about getting naked.

The centre-back had been answering questions about his anterior cruciate ligament injury, the Villa Park atmosphere and his side’s monumental rise when a fan began heckling him from the stands.

The supporter appears to say: ‘Tyrone, get your kit on. Get your kit on.’

Pundit Rio Ferdinand adds, ‘Did he say get your kit off? Hold on a minute’, as the panel, including Mings, laugh hysterically.

At this point Woods makes the hilarious remark: ‘For the first time ever, a fan has said get your kit on.’

The Villa man then laughs, ‘I don’t know how to take that’, before recovering his composure with remarkable professionalism and continuing to analyse the qualities of his club’s home ground.

As for Villa, the West Midlands side had arguably their best night since the last time they faced Bayern in 1982.

That night Peter Withe was the hero after he pinched a glorious winner to upset the odds in Rotterdam. But Wednesday evening was all about Colombian Duran and yet another goal off the bench.

The occasion needed little billing. Long considered sleeping giants, the West Midlands club were back where they feel they belong and supporters crowded outside the ground hours before the match began to catch a sight of their heroes.

An impressive array of fireworks and flashing lights only added to an atmosphere audible in Birmingham New Street. There were so many individual pinch-me moments: the players’ walk-out, the Champions League anthem and, finally, the kick-off.

Villa thought they had taken the lead in the first-half after Pau Torres bundled home following some penalty area pinball.

Cue the flares, the mayhem, Prince William going ballistic in the stands. But VAR reared its head to burst the balloon. Offside.

Villa were on top now and looking a threat each time they surged forward. Rogers found Watkins who surged into the box and squared it. Lurking on the edge of the box was Amadou Onana who struck a feeble effort at Manuel Neuer.

Serge Gnabry then witlessly ignored the chance to square the ball to Kane for a tap-in, the former Arsenal man blazing it over from a much trickier angle as the game became an end-to-end affair.

Martinez then plucked a save straight from the very top draw, a menacing swerving effort from ex-Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise being tipped over the bar.

The second period started off in similar fashion, the German side hogging the ball but Villa remained a threat on the break with Watkins causing his French marker more headaches.

Musiala began to put his skilful stamp on the game, weaving through the home defence in his agile manner – on one occasion, using Kane as a wall to receive the ball back for a blocked shot.

But then, against the run of play, Duran timed an electric run to perfection before taking a quick look up to see Neuer off his line and firing home a finish of the highest quality.

There was even time for a late scare when Gnabry seemed to just have to deflect in a cross to equalise for Bayern but Martinez made yet another reflex stop to maintain the lead before doing the same from a Kane header from a corner in the dying seconds.
