Linda Robson’s three-word response on Pauline Quirke feud

Must read

Linda Robson previously addressed rumours of a “feud” with her longstanding co-star and pal Pauline Quirke. The Birds of a Feather stars have been friends for over 50 years with the pair having worked on the hit BBC sitcom after becoming friends in primary school.

Linda and Pauline along with Lesley Joseph were the three leading ladies of the classic show which debuted in 1989. According to earlier reports, Linda, 66, drifted apart from Pauline, 65, after the latter declined to take part in the show’s Christmas special.

After two decades of being off-air, ITV recommissioned the beloved comedy sitcom for a one-off special following 2014’s series – but not all of the cast was on board with the idea.

Pauline opted to walk away from the programme, leaving her close friend and co-star “disappointed,” but Linda was quick to shut down any claim of a feud.

“I’m not going to lie and say Lesley and I weren’t disappointed. Of course, we were,” she admitted whilst reflecting on Pauline’s decision to leave the series.

She continued: “We were gutted and we couldn’t imagine going on without her. We were a trio – how could it possibly work without any one of us?

“But at the same time as all that sadness, there was acceptance and understanding, too.”

Speaking to Mail+, Linda went on: “Sure enough, the headlines were predictable, saying there was a ‘feud’ and ‘bad blood’ and that she’d quit because we were no longer speaking.”

In a three-word response, she added: “It’s such bulls***.”

The trio have remained friends, with the Loose Women star saying: “We tried to ignore it but it was difficult when it was all we were ever asked about.”

Birds of a Feather was a fan favourite, bringing in tens of millions of viewers during its initial nine-year run.

When the show returned in 2014 on ITV, the debut episode on the broadcaster saw more than eight million tune in.
