Hotel Chocolat is set to launch a new concept store and velvetiser café in Eldon Square in a matter of weeks, taking over a 3,138 square-foot unit.
The new venue – which has space for 18 customers – will serve the luxury chocolatier’s velvetised drinking chocolate alongside a range of other hot drinks when it opens on Saturday, November 30.
Guests will also be able to customise their drinks, choosing from 18 different velvetised flavours served hot, over ice, or as a choc shake.
The drinks can also be tailored with dairy milk or plant-based alternatives, along with an array of toppings, with customers also able to browse the brand’s chocolate selection.
Staff will also be able to help customers find their chocolate ‘love match’ based on their preferred flavour profiles, including smooth pralines, patisserie-inspired flavours, or even chocolates with an alcohol twist.

The new café , located next to Whittard and Typo, will be open from 9am until 7pm every day other than Sunday, when it will open between 11am and 5pm.
This marks Hotel Chocolat’s second location in the city centre, with the firm already having a shop on Blackett Street.
The chain also operates stores in Sunderland’s Bridges Shopping Centre and Gateshead’s Metrocentre, and recently announced it would be opening a café in Northallerton after signs were erected on a high street unit.
