This is the moment a group of thrill seekers were rescued from a broken upside-down rollercoaster.
Passengers on the Super Loops attraction at a local fair in Ocotlan, Mexico, were left stranded upside down on Sunday when the ride suddenly encountered difficulties.
Firefighters were seen rescuing the trapped passengers.
Local media reports said that five people were rescued from the ride by firefighters after it broke down and came to a stop upside down on a loop-the-loop.
The Ocotlan Fire Department said yesterday: ‘Staff from the Ocotlan Fire Department attended to a report of mechanical failure in one of the games located inside the Fair Core.
‘The ride called ‘Super Loops’ was suspended at the top and five people were trapped.
‘Rescue manoeuvres were carried out with the support of a fire truck which gave us better access and allowed us to free the occupants.
‘Because of the position in which they were left, it was necessary to move one of them to receive better medical care. We appreciate the support from the Ocotlan Police Department who supported us in coordinating the area and making the scene safe.
‘After an investigation by the Risk Management Area and Regulatory Staff, a mechanical failure was found to be at fault.’
Earlier this month, passengers on a rollercoaster in Kent were shocked when the track in front of them began to crumble mid-ride.
The footage was shot on Dreamland Margate’s ‘Scenic Railway Ride’, which is the UK’s oldest rollercoaster.
Those on the ride were heard speaking nervously after the ride stopped, realising something was wrong. Nobody was injured.
