Marks and Spencer left people divided after rolling out some Christmas products in stores – over 15 weeks before the festive season.
The summer holidays are over and supermarkets are filled with pumpkins and Halloween decorations as we head into autumn.
But how early is too early to start thinking about Christmas? Although it is three months away, M&S wasted no time in getting ready for the merry season as festive food has already been spotted in stores.
Recently popular social media food reviewer and father known as ‘Big Daddy B’ – who often shares which new food products in supermarkets and offers his take on viral eateries – shared a video of shelves full of Christmas goodies in M&S.
He found a number chocolate treats, chocolate gifts, festive Percy Pigs, cinnamon bun bites, peppermint bark candy cane rubble, Christmas-themed hot chocolate, fruit cake slices, and even a Christmas pudding kit.
User @bigdaddybsfoods said: “Christmas has landed at @marksandspencerfood.”
One individual, who cannot believe M&S has already brought out Christmas products, added: “Shut up! It’s September! Stop this.”
Another added: “A bit early ain’t it? Halloween hasn’t even happened yet.” “Too much it’s September,” commented another.
“It’s getting earlier and earlier each year,” noticed another. One other added: “No, no, no it’s friggen September! Halloween first.”
But a number of people seem excited by the early roll-out as an individual said: “Oh Christmas at M&S, lovely all be it a bit early.”
Someone else added: “Love Xmas! Quite happy to bypass Halloween!” “Show me more,” added one other. “I’m so here for it,” said one other.
“Can’t wait to put my tree up,” said another. “Got some merry percymas yesterday,” said one shopper. “Time to put the tree up,” wrote another.
Another suggested that M&S isn’t the only supermarket rolling out their Christmas stock early. They commented: “Do you think all the shops get together and have a chat about when the Christmas stuff is coming out? Quite impressed they are all coordinated in the September release this year.”
