Andrew Fish

Norse Atlantic Airways has appointed Andrew Fish as its new head of sales in the UK from 1 July.

Fish, who has 25 years’ experience in the travel industry, will be tasked with “strengthening” travel trade agreements in his new role.

Norse Atlantic operates a range of transatlantic services using a fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners from Oslo, London, Paris, Berlin, Rome and Athens. The carrier plans to launch a London Gatwick-Las Vegas route in September followed by a Gatwick to Cape Town service in October.

Fish has worked for a wide range of companies during his career including Enterprise, BMI British Midland, Gulf Air, Premier Inn, HRG and Finnair.

Bård Nordhagen, chief commercial officer at Norse Atlantic, said: “We remain committed to working closely with the travel trade and this new role in the commercial team will strengthen our presence in the UK market and ensure that a wider audience has access to our affordable fares.”

In a separate announcement, Norse Atlantic said it had failed to reach a “formal agreement” for a strategic investment option following “advanced” discussions. The company appointed Seabury Securities in January to help secure investments from strategic partners and commercial partnerships.

Bjorn Tore Larsen, who is the airline’s CEO and founder, added: “Our focus remains to deliver on our opportunistic and flexible business model by securing additional longer term winter charter contracts and operating our own core summer routes when demand is at its highest.

“We will update the market and our shareholders regarding additional active strategic avenues as these progress.”
