Hospitality company NUMA Group has acquired UK aparthotel and serviced apartments brand Native Places.
The deal will give Berlin-based NUMA another 800 units in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow, and increases its total portfolio in Europe to more than 7,300 units. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
Native Places is the short-stay business division of Native Holdings, which was founded by Guy Nixon. It operates The Apartment Collection of serviced apartment buildings in London, as well as Native Apart Hotels in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Christian Gaiser, CEO and co-founder of NUMA Group, said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Native Places and their team. We aim to establish a leading position in the UK’s premier cities, with London being the number one European hospitality market.
“Thanks to Native Places, we will gain access to a very strong brand recognised by leisure and business travellers. This collaboration marks another significant step forward in NUMA’s ambition to expand across Europe and secure a dominant foothold in the UK market.”
Nixon added: “I’m thrilled to see Native Places becoming part of a pan-European platform offering our corporate and leisure guests an exciting choice of serviced apartments across a growing European network.”
This is the latest acquisition by NUMA, which snapped up another European serviced apartment operator YAYS from Proprium Capital Partners in November 2023.
Olivia Immesi, who is currently CEO of Native Places, will continue in her role as the company joins the NUMA Group.
“I’m incredibly excited to continue to lead the Native Places brand as it joins a fast-moving European and tech-driven serviced apartment platform, creating one of the largest platforms of lifestyle serviced apartments in Europe,” added Immesi.
