Paris 2024: What is happening on day 10 at the Olympics?

Must read

Day 10 in Paris finally sees one of Team Ireland’s biggest stars make her Olympic bow.

Rhasidat Adeleke, 21, is considered a real medal hope in the women’s 400m and will be in heat six when the competition gets underway at 11:05 BST.

A silver medallist at the European championships in Rome two months ago when posting a time of 49.07, Adeleke followed that with victory in the Monaco Diamond League meet in July.

Having helping Ireland to a historic 4x400m mixed relay gold in Rome, and also contributed to their silver medal in the women’s 4x400m, Adeleke has so far been focussed on her individual event in Paris where her main rivals for podium places figure to be Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic, Jamaica’s Nickisha Pryce and Poland’s Natalia Kaczmarek.

Sharlene Mawdsley and Sophie Becker are also involved in the Monday morning heats.
