Payton Talbott Defeats Yanis Ghemmouri in 19 Seconds at UFC 303
Payton Talbott has proved this evening that he is the real deal!!
Talbott has been touted as being one of the most impressive fighters to be signed to the UFC off the contenders series. This was after a unanimous decision victory against Reyes Cortez. Since signing for the UFC he was able to get the 3rd round submission over Nick Aguirre. After that fight he secured a 2nd round stoppage over Cameron Saaiman. Payton Talbott was able to stay undefeated this evening when he was able to get the stoppage victory over Yanis Ghemmouri. This was in the prelims of UFC 303 and happened after only 19 seconds. Payton Talbott was entering this fight as one of the biggest betting favourites in UFC history. Talbott came into this fight as a -1600 favourite according to Draft Kings Sportsbook. This now seems very low considering how easy this fight was for Talbott. Yanis Ghemmouri would open up the fight with a spin kick that Payton Talbott was able to evade. This was before Talbott was able to connect with a straight right just seconds later. This would leave Yanis Ghemmouri stunned on the mat however, the referee Chris Tognoni would not step in to stop the fight yet. Talbott would end up landing a few heavy strikes on the ground before Chris Tognoni would step in to call the fight off. This stoppage now means Payton Talbott has 3 victories in 3 trips into the UFC octagon. After the fight, Payton Talbott would go on to call out Adrian Yanez next time out.
