Plan for gym for people who are ‘intimidated’ by large venues

The proposed gym on Possil Road in the Woodside area aims to offer “small group personal training sessions” for people who may be “intimidated” by large facilities or are “new to resistance training” according to proposals.

Personal trainer Christopher Watterson has applied to Glasgow City Council for planning permission to change the use of the unit one premises to a gym.

Explaining more about the service, a statement from the gym business, Cultivate Conditioning said: “We focus on creating a safe, private space where clients can build confidence and achieve their fitness goals under the guidance of experienced coaches.”

If planning permission is granted, the fitness venue would open Monday to Friday from 5am to 7pm and Saturday from 8am to noon.

The operational statement lodged with the council added: “At Cultivate Conditioning our mission is to make fitness accessible and enjoyable for everyone, especially those who may have previously felt excluded or overwhelmed by traditional gym environments.

“We are committed to helping our clients develop a positive relationship with exercise and achieve lasting results.”
