If you’re looking for a holiday destination that gives you everything a summer jaunt to Europe should, but without breaking the bank, have you considered Montenegro?
Specifically, the town of Tivat on the Adriatic coast. The town, despite being known for attracting those with deep pockets and a penchant for a luxury lifestyle, has plenty of character and is accessible for holidaymakers with a range of budgets.
What’s more, it offers something for nature-lovers and beach bums alike.
If that wasn’t enough, temperatures can reach 34C in August and you can fly there from a major UK airport for less than twenty quid.
That’s right, according to flight comparison site Skyscanner, Brits can jet off to Tivat one-way for just £19 on August 26 from Bristol Airport.
If you’re just after a short stay, you can fly back to Bristol for the same price on August 30.
However, you’re looking to stay a little longer, and don’t mind a two-hour drive to the city of Podgorica, you can fly into London on September 18 for the reasonable price of £75.
Despite offering so much, Brits scarcely travel to the idyllic Balkan town. However, one reviewer from Bournemouth said of one of the town’s most popular beaches, Kalardovo: “We have been coming here now for a number of years and the ambience, staff, amenities and food are excellent.
“The very recent addition of the children’s play park is hugely welcome.
“The sea is safe for children and just deep enough for us adults to have a few ‘laps’ of the cordoned off area. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly.”
