New England Revolution put on their worse performance of the season in a 5-1 thrashing against Philadelphia Union at the Subaru Park on Thursday.

Two goals from Tai Baribo either side of Jakob Glesnes‘s strike saw Caleb Porter‘s men head into the interval with a mountain to climb before Ian Harkes pulled one back, only for Baribo and Quinn Sullivan to put the result beyond doubt.

Consequently, the Revs dropped to the bottom of the Eastern Conference in the MLS table, a whopping 11 points adrift in the race for automatic playoff qualification.

On the horizon next is the challenge of an opposing outfit who have lost only one of the last 13 meetings between the teams since 2012.

However, that solitary defeat did come in the most recent encounter back in 2022 when Saturday’s hosts claimed a narrow 1-0 triumph.

Dallas made light work of 10-man Austin as they recorded a 3-1 victory when the teams locked horns at the Toyota Stadium on Thursday.

Peter Luccin‘s men broke the deadlock through Paul Arriola but were pegged back in next to no time by Gyasi Zardes to leave the game tied at half time, after which Petar Musa and Marco Farfan netted in the second half.

With 29 points picked up from 24 matches this term, El Toros sit 11th in the Western Conference standings, one point shy of ninth-placed Minnesota United.

Having lost five and drawn one of their last six matches on the road, Saturday’s visitors have endured a torrid time away from home of late and will be keen to improve their fortunes.
