Since Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, his style has drastically changed and often steps out in dazzling designer labels. The couple who now live over in the U.S, after stepping down as working royals often attend lavish galas and events in the finiest of outfits – just last week his wife sported a £31,000 outfit.
The 40-year-old Duke of Sussex was once renowned for his laid-back style, donning high-street labels and was even snapped outside TKMaxx in Kensington in the early 2000s. The Prince was spotted walking out of the retailer which is known for its big discounts.
In his book Spare, he revealed that he would often head to the store when he needed to wear “casual clothes”. He wrote: “I was particularly fond of their once-a-year sale when they’d be flush with items from Gap or J. Crew.” Before adding that he got items “that had gone out of season or were slightly damaged.” Prince Harry continued that he could “look like a fashion plate” for “two hundred quid”.
If you have been to the retailer, you will know that as soon as you step foot in their stores, your eyes are amazed by the lines of clothes, shoes, and accessories that are full to the brim with discounted items. Prince Harry also shared that he would get great pleasure: systematically walking up one rack and down another” on the hunt for a deal.
However, following his admission regarding TK. MAXX told Express.co.uk that they do not hold annual sales.
They said: “Whilst we’re delighted he is a big fan, we thought we should explain we don’t actually do sales.”
While adding, “Instead, we offer great value, style, and savings all year round.” Harry said that he would choose ensembles that “looked nice, comfortable” and wasn’t concerned about the “colour or style.”
However, in the last few years he has sported suits from the likes of luxury fashion houses, while his wife Meghan, 43 has taken a shining to Givenchy, who also designed her wedding gown.
Last year, the Prince decided to wear a bespoke three-piece suit designed by Dior’s artistic director Kim Jones. Prince Harry also wore a pair of swanky loafers during a summer tour to Africa, they were created by Loro Piana and priced at £890.
But, before he struck up a romance and married Meghan, Harry was spotted in similar designs for just a fraction of the price from high-street retailors.
Prince Harry appeared to have a close relationship in public with his sister in-law, but since his move to the U.S their relatinship along with his brother and father has broken down and played out in the media.
Howeve, back in 2011 he sweetly sported the same Le Chameau Vierzon wellington boots as Princess Kate – the high-street outwear were just were just £220.
Meanwhile, the Sussex who live in Montecito, California have reportedly invited Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brookbank to spend Christmas with them in California. This has forced the pair to choose between spending the festive period in the UK or the US.
