Rail passengers have been warned to expect delays as Bank Holiday engineering work completes at major London stations.

Services will be disrupted in Stoke-on-Trent and London as planned engineering work comes to a close. No long distance services ran from London King’s Cross this weekend as part of the East Coast Digital Programme.

Elsewhere, the disruption between Exeter St Davids and Axminster continues after a landslip on Wednesday, while a number of flights have been cancelled at Heathrow Airport, including to Tel Aviv, Israel.

Various airlines have grounded flights at Heathrow Airport today.

This includes a British Airways flight to Tel Aviv.

Festival traffic hits major motorways

Bank holiday travel delays have started with those returning home from festivals warned of longer drive times.

Around two miles of congestion hit the A1M between J43 and J44 in the early hours of this morning near Hazlewood due to pick up traffic from Leeds Festival.
