She said sport played a “vital role” in the borough’s communities, “helping people of all ages and abilities to stay healthy and connected”.
The 12 categories are volunteer of the year, young volunteer of the year, changing lives award, sports person of the year, young sports person of the year, coach of the year, club of the year, team of the year, junior team of the year, senior citizen award, inclusive sport award and sustainability in sport award.
Ms Moses said: “I encourage anyone who has benefitted from community sport this year to nominate their heroes.”
Nominees must reside or be part of a club within the borough and nominations can be in more than one category, as long as the nomination meets the agreed criteria.
