The retail giants are investing £100million in their UK outlets – and Glasgow is set to be the next city to benefit from the expansion.

Primark have announced that they will be launching their newest opening at Glasgow Fort, and there are 200 roles up for grabs.

Roles include retail assistants, stockroom colleagues, and P&C administrators, with start dates as early as October to assist with getting the store ready for it’s grand opening.

An exact opening date is yet to be determined, but it is expected the outlet will be open in time to meet the xmas rush.

Pay starts from £12 per hour, and all team members will get to enjoy a 15% year-round discount.

The 33,500 square foot shop is built over two floors, and customers will be able to buy all of the Primark products they know including clothing, kidswear, beauty, lifestyle and home products.

In a press release today, Primark said: “Each role plays an important part in creating a fantastic store experience.

“As a retail assistant, day to day responsibilities vary from restocking the sales floor to serving customers at the tills, while stockroom colleagues are responsible for processing all deliveries in and out of the stockroom.

Carolanne Molloy, Primark Glasgow Fort store manager, said: “I’m really proud to be launching a brand-new Primark at Glasgow Fort and bringing more of what people know and love about us to shoppers in Scotland.

“But now I need a brilliant team to join me! I can say from experience that Primark is a fantastic place to work and it’s also a very exciting time to be joining us as we’re a growing business and stalwart on the Great British high street.

“So far there’s been a lot of anticipation from customers, and we can’t wait to share more with everyone very soon before our doors finally open.”

Phil Goodman, centre director, added: “We know that our shoppers are very much looking forward to Primark joining the centre soon – as are the whole team!

“Not only will it be a fantastic addition to our existing fashion, beauty and home brands, it’s great to see just how many roles are being created and the new opportunities it’s bringing to the local community.

“If you’re interested in the roles available and applying, there will be Primark representatives at our jobs fair taking place on Thursday 26th September – we hope to meet lots of potential new team members then.”

Primark Glasgow Fort marks the 195th store in the UK, and the 21st in Scotland.

The retail giants are celebrating 50 years of business in the UK this year.
