Bargain Hunt star Roo Irvine has given an insight into her life away from the world of antiques
The Scottish presenter is back on the BBC daytime series with a “tiny treasures special”, exploring some of Glasgow’s “pint-sized attractions in Glasgow” and revealing what items the red and blue teams have bought.
‌
Roo was discovered as a TV personality when Antiques Road Trip visited her shop, Kilcreggan Antiques in Scotland, in early 2015. It wasn’t long before she was invited by BBC producers to become one of the experts.
Nine years later, she has become a regular on some of the most popular daytime shows.

Despite her career in antiques, Roo has other interests that don’t involve collectors’ items. According to her website, she is passionate about “food, music and fashion”.
Her bio reads: “Viewers know Roo dresses to impress in her eclectic and as she says ‘sometimes unique fashion’. But when she’s not dressing up, Roo can be found in the kitchen, cooking amazing curries for her friends.”
‌
She also supports several charities and is an ambassador for the Blue Cross animal charity.
Roo currently resides in a small village in Argyll and Bute in Scotland with her husband of 12 years, Mark Irvine, who is an Independent Councillor.
‌
Earlier this year, he was appointed the new chairman of the council’s Helensburgh and Lomond area committee.
Roo has chosen to remain silent about their relationship, but it’s known that they are the proud owners of three Maine Coon cats.
You can catch Bargain Hunt on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
