Passengers travelling with Ryanair and Jet2 this weekend have been warned their flights could be disrupted due to Storm Darragh. The Met Office issued a red weather warning for parts of Wales and England until 11am today with winds of up to 91mph expected.
And a yellow weather warning for areas of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland has been placed until 9pm today.
Ryanair told passengers that anyone travelling to or from the UK on Saturday, December 7 could be affected.
It urged people to check online or on their app for any updates about their flight, however, affected passengers should be notified.
“Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from the UK on Sat 7 December should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight,” Ryanair said on its website.
“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by Storm Darragh, which is outside of Ryanair’s control and affects all airlines operating to/from the UK on Sat 7 Dec.”
As reported by GB News, the airline had previously set the same warning on Thursday (December 5) due to the storm.
Jet2 has issued a warning to passengers about potential flight disruptions as severe weather hits the UK.
The airline anticipated disruptions from Thursday, December 5 through to Sunday, December 8.
While Jet2 plans to operate flights as close to schedule as possible, they have urged passengers to take precautions.
“We advise all customers to allow extra time to travel to the airport and check in as scheduled,” the airline said.
Jet2 stated it would contact affected passengers directly via text and email if flights are disrupted. They also advised customers to check that their information is correct.
“We will, where possible, board all flights for an on-time departure, however, please be prepared for a longer than normal wait either in the terminal or onboard the aircraft to depart,” it said.
“Jet2.com would like to apologise in advance for any disruption you may experience. Your comfort and safety is our number one priority, we will have you on the way as soon as possible.”
