On the eve of his return to the London Fashion Week schedule, Steven Stokey-Daley, founder and creative director of S.S. Daley, has won the 2024 Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.
The seventh recipient of the award, which recognises young designers who are making their mark on fashion through either sustainable practices or community engagement, Stokey-Daley follows in the footsteps of Richard Quinn, Bethany Williams, Rosh Mahtani of Alighieri, Priya Ahluwalia, Saul Nash, and last year’s winner Foday Dumbuya of Labrum London.

It’s already been somewhat of a momentous year for menswear designer. Having skipped London Fashion Week last September, Stokey-Daley started 2024 as the guest designer of Pitti Uomo’s 105th edition in Florence, presenting a thoughtful collection inspired by the wit and whimsy of E.M. Forster and private school prep. The buzzy show was quickly proceeded by the news that Harry Styles would become a minority shareholder in the S.S. Daley brand.
Stokey-Daley will make a much-anticipated return to the London Fashion Week tomorrow to present his SS25 collection, which is tipped to feature an official debut womenswear line.
