Shoppers say ‘you’d never guess it’s from the discount retailer if you saw that in someone’s house’
With a chill in the air, thoughts are turning to the festive season and retailers are already thinking the same. Home Bargains is one store that is stocking Christmas decorations early, and one particular product has become a sensation.
The excitement began in the popular Home Bargains Appreciation Society Facebook group. A member posted an image of the store’s Winter Charm LED Gingerbread Townhouse Ornament.
They wanted to include the £15 piece in their festive décor this year but wondered if anyone had already bought it. “Does anyone have a photo of this? Wanna see what it’s like before I buy!” They asked.

Fans of Home Bargains were quick to admire the decoration and the post was soon flooded with messages from others who also wanted to know everything they could about the item. Many were impressed by its intricate details that made it look so much more expensive than £15, reports the Mirror.

One admirer gushed it was “very detailed”, while another was surprised by the size. They said it was “actually huge” and “looks more like a magical castle” than a house, leaving people brimming with ideas to centre around the piece.
A third impressed shopper wrote: “That’s stunning! You’d never guess it’s from Home Bargains if you saw that in someone’s house!”
Katy couldn’t resist and confessed: “I’ve just ordered it”. Meanwhile, Charlotte tagged a friend, suggesting: “How beautiful is this! I feel like we all need one.”
The decoration, standing proud at 40cm tall, is described as: “This enchanting ornament features a gingerbread townhouse, beautifully detailed with frosted icing, candy decorations and a dusting of snow. The warm LED lights inside the house create a cosy, inviting glow that radiates through the windows, adding a touch of magic to your Christmas tree or festive display.”
Questions about its power source were raised, noticing the twinkling lights in the promotional picture. It was confirmed to be battery operated, meaning you could put it anywhere in your home without being attached to a plug socket.
For those keen on decking their halls with a festive gingerbread theme, Home Bargains offers a massive range of affordable choices. The Winter Charm Gingerbread Metal Postbox, complete with a working door, is described as a ‘fun touch’ for your Christmas decorations, priced at £12.99.
