A successful bid by Gravesham council to the Getting Building Fund managed by the South-East Local Enterprise Partnership and Kent County Council, has secured £370,000 to help with the costs of the refurbishment of former retail units into a workspace with meeting rooms, event space and other related services.

There are more than 400 registered businesses in the creative and digital sectors alone in Gravesham and the council is keen to create the space and wider eco-system to support the growth of fledgling and established local enterprises.

Cllr Lauren Sullivan, cabinet member for community and leisure, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking and proactive operator to help create an inspirational working environment for new and growing businesses, for co-working spaces.
