A VINTAGE sports car that’s so rare only 135 still exist has gone on sale for less than £9k.
Petrol heads have the chance to buy the pre-owned S3 which has a full receipt history and even an original build sheet from the factory for £8,750.
Described as being in “great condition” the refurbished car has already been serviced earlier this year at RB Sportscars in Hexham.
The current owner has put the TRV up for sale on the PistonHeads website as he hopes to find something which his “wife is more comfortable driving“.
Interested buyers can enjoy images of both the leather seating and blue exterior.
The has 1990 2.9 litre is a TRV 290 S has clocked 96 miles and has only a “small star crack” on the bonnet “but this is only obvious when up close to polish the car”.
Having owned the car for eight years, the Renfrew based seller seems happy to part ways with the vehicle as he has suggested that he could be “willing to bring the car down to meet serious buyers”.
He said: “The time has come to sell my S3.
“We have continued to do whatever work has been required.
“The interior is in great condition and a very comfortable place to be especially on long distance runs.
“The leather has a lovely patina but no tears or cracks.
“I appreciate most TVR lovers are south of the border and am willing to bring the car down to meet serious buyers.”
TVR is a British sports car manufacturer known for its lightweight and powerful cars.
Founded in 1947, the company claims to be the third-largest specialised sports manufacturer in the world.
However, the iconic British motors brand has a somewhat troubled history.
At the end of last year it was reported that TRV lost the rights to its new factory where it had plans to build a long-awaited sports car.
First unveiled in 2017, the V8 was left without a production line.
