As the weather cools down and winter draws near, Brits are seeking to bask in some sunshine away from the high-season crowds.

Southern Europe is often the go-to after the tourist rush, as it allows for a more relaxed and peaceful experience.

One coastal town in Spain is ideal for this type of travel, as it enjoys mild and warm temperatures, typically ranging between 20°C to 26°C.

During autumn, Puerto del Carmen is ideal for outdoor activities and beach relaxation without the intense heat of summer.

The pleasant weather is also perfect for hiking, exploring the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote, and beach-strolling on Playa Grande and Playa de los Pocillos.

The Old Town of Puerto del Carmen is a picturesque area with narrow streets, traditional Canarian architecture, and a bustling harbour with all kinds of culinary options.

The clear, warm waters around Puerto del Carmen are excellent for snorkelling and diving to explore vibrant marine life, including colourful fish and underwater volcanic formations, without the high summer swell.

Travellers who visited this captivating town in autumn highlighted the beauty and tranquillity of its surroundings.

One person shared on Tripadvisor: “I’m going in two weeks from today, and I’ve only ever been in July/August and early January.

“I found early January to be more busy by night as less children around at that time of the year.

“An older crowd, meaning they aren’t tied to children’s entertainment in hotels etc. So pubs/strips are busier.”

Another traveller commented: “We had fab weather a couple of years ago. Really hot in October. We’ve been most months and always found September and October to have great weather.”
