Surrounded by green fields, the area is one of natural beauty but also offers an exciting town called Alberobello which is located nearby.

As one of the prettiest parts of Italy, you won’t be disappointed to find this hidden treasure.

To get there, it’s best to fly to Bari and then you can drive to Valle d’Itria which takes around one hour and 20 minutes.

While you’re in the area, you can book a Vespa tour which is an exciting and adventurous way to see the area.

There are also cooking classes available if you are keen to learn how to create Italian cuisine at home. The classes provide a fun and authentic opportunity to learn the best way to make popular Italian dishes.

Alberobello is the famous capital of the trulli in Puglia, it is home to a Unesco World Heritage site in the form of an extraordinary dry stone building.

If you want to explore the area with the help of a tour guide who can share local knowledge of the historical area, there are plenty of opportunities to do so.

One guest who took a guided tour from Tripadvisor said: “We have been on many tours but none as wonderful as this. Valeria is knowledgeable, very pleasant and very informative. She took her time explaining all the highlights in Alberobello. We ended in a shop for free tasting and this was an excellent way to end the tour. We purchased some gifts here and loved the tasting experience.”

A popular activity to do in the area is to go wine tasting or olive tasting. If you decide to go wine tasting, most experiences allow you to try around five wines and also provide snacks as part of the experience.

One person on Tripadvisor who visited Valle d’Itria said: “We travelled through this valley over a couple of days and it has a lovely surrounding area. I would have liked to bike ride the roads. It is dotted by those unique houses, great vineyards and beautiful sights.”
