You can still enjoy a holiday on a budget, but it may mean that you end up frequenting the same destinations each year.
This doesn’t have to be the case, however, as one budget-friendly travel lover has shared there are three destinations you could try if you’re fed up with Spain, Portugal and Greece.
@emsudgettravel captioned her video: “Less popular and cheaper holiday destinations – get off the beaten track for your next trip with these hidden gems.”
She said that they are “good value destinations”, joking that she “wanted to gatekeep number one” because it’s so amazing. Em said that it was her “favourite country” she’s “ever been to”.
“I’d say it’s kinda like Croatia but less crowded and cheaper.
“It has the perfect combination of stunning scenery and so many beaches and islands but then also mountains. It has the clearest and bluest water I’ve ever seen and really good value accommodation”, she gushed.
She said it’s “small” so “easy to get around”, and flights start from just £35 return.
So where is it? Em adores Montenegro, in the Balkans.
The second recommendation she gave was “a country with amazing scenery, beautiful mountains and loads of history”.
She said the people are friendly, there’s loads to do, and it’s home to some of the best brunches she’s ever had, and you can fly there from £80 return.
It’s Armenia she recommended, “more specifically Yerevan, the capital.”
Last but not least, if you’re “looking for a weekend break on a budget”, she said this city would be “perfect”.
“It has a really charming old town, yummy food, and lots of really cute coffee shops”, Em revealed: “Plus, an impressive castle with great views, and you can fly there from £28 return”.
Where is it? Bratislava in Slovakia.
In the comments, someone penned: “Montenegro is the best summer destination in Europe without a doubt.”
“Come in Albania, prices good and nice places to visit”, a local penned.
“Bratislava and Montenegro. both my favourite places in one video wow”, a TikToker shared.
